#7. Useless characters of Like Heroes
So, you want to create the worst character in the perfect meta? Well, look no further than our game, Like Heroes: Ultimate!
We spent months meticulously designing and balancing our 25 unique characters, making sure their mechanics synergized perfectly with each other. We even wrote a bot to test and collect data on all 2700 possible team combinations.
But what did we get after all that hard work? A measly 10-15 popular team builds and a bunch of unpopular girls who were about as useful as a one-legged pirate in a treasure hunt.
Why, you ask? It's simple: we made the mistake of tying character strength to her progress too hard. The longer it took to acquire a new character, the worse they became. And let me tell you, losing with a well-synergized team just because you got a new girl who's weaker than a soggy noodle is not fun.
But fear not! We found a solution that would make any Like Heroes player happy. We made abilities independent of progression, leaving the color modifier the only contribution to player power it gets. And we will introduce very soon a new general progression system that should help mitigate all the unnecessary grinding. Now you can use any character, at any level, and be much more effective in battle. Plus, we got rid of those pesky folders as the main progression source and replaced them with card rewards that you get after each battle and linear, much less random progression tracker.
